I had to hit one party at WMC this year, so I chose to go to the Xima Records showcase in the Mondrian Hotel. German Garcia on the decks. Got comped an espresso martini because the bartender felt guilty he couldn’t make me white chocolate. Thank you, Mr. Bartender.

50 Shades of House at Dr. Feelgood’s, West Palm Beach, 3-13-2013.
Hokey name aside, Ilya Tartarov (with me, top pic) threw a totally slamming party with a packed crowd to prove that West Palm Beach is a mecca for true house music. I tried to get DeShon (below) to make me an apple martini but he insisted on sending me to the lower bar. Oh, DeShon.
I think I overdid the neo-80s look. Ah well.
Heard this come on Soma Underground 80s last night. Forgot how much I adored this track. Out of Duran Duran’s extensive catalog, this one is unfortunately overlooked.

Hullabaloo grand opening, 1-25-2013. With Jon Elu, co-owner.
I was honored to be there on the opening night of Jon and Rodney Briguglio’s new venture in downtown West Palm Beach. This is where The Lounge used to be. You remember The Lounge was where I had my residency for two years. It was freaky to keep looking over to where the DJ booth was and see where a party of six was seated.
Joey, my favorite bartender, was behind the bar. He excitedly told me they stocked Godiva. He encouraged me to have one of their signature cocktails, named after various musicians no longer with us. I opted for a white chocolate Godiva martini. Yum. Also broke my steadfast rule of not eating pork to have the white clam, bacon, and arugula pizza. Also yum. Tried to get a pic with the chef when he asked how I was enjoying my meal but he was too busy to stop.
Wishing Jon and Rodney the best of success in a downtown that’s becoming increasingly vibrant.

Pop! art show at David K. Space, 1-23-2013. You may have seen David K.’s work in Rolling Stone, among many other magazines.
Besides 60s fashion inspired artwork, there were also displays of pop-tarts and candy throughout the salon. I had a confetti cupcake pop-tart, which was way too sugary for me. That’s what I get for eating healthier for the last 2 years. Did get a plethora of Tootsie Roll pops.
Repping the Jersey Shore in Palm Beach. Snooki and The Situation can suck it--I was here first. Incidentally, when I say I'm from the Jersey Shore, I mean the real deal--I don't tan, I don't fist pump, and I don't have big hair. OK, sometimes I have big hair. I will admit to being loud and flashy, but that's how us real Jersey girls are. :-)
